Usae

The item is used in special weapons: Both the substance and the gases are used in firearms, explosives, among others.

The handling of the item to be used in weapons must be carried out by personnel instructed and trained to handle toxic substances, as well as the personnel who use said weapons.

Due to its great utility, more bases are experimenting with the substance. Not much has been investigated about its origin.

Report

The item is a substance of unknown origin, quite corrosive and toxic. It is a slightly dark green color.

The Insurgency has not discovered very large quantities of the item, and has used ██ liters of the substance. Its density is estimated at 1122 kg/m³.

The item looks like a mucous substance, similar to that of mammalian animals, although it also has similarities with snail slime. When the item is exposed to air, it forms a dry layer of a darker color on the outside. So far, attempts to discover the origin of the substance have failed.

The item releases a lime-green gas of high density, comparable to smoke. When this gas comes into contact with any type of organic matter, it is damaged. Due to this property, any living being that inhales the gas will suffer irreversible damage to the lungs in seconds, in addition to causing asphyxiation and subsequent death. Microscopic organisms and fungi do not seem to be affected in any way by the gas. The item produces gases slowly, taking a couple of days to form a considerable amount.

It was first found in a forest in ██████, ████. The item was found in the open, following a trail. It was discovered on October 26, 2006, by an Insurgency team (details in Appendix).

The item is stored securely. It is in a corrosion-resistant tank containing the substance, and this tank is inside a specialized room for toxic substances. Due to its potential, constant surveillance is required: Guards at all times and video surveillance is provided.

The gases generated are removed from the tank periodically to prevent high pressure. The tank containing the item has an airlock on top, which is opened remotely, connected to a pipe that directs the gas to an upper room, where it is removed. Upon completion the airlock is closed again. These gases are then stored and/or used for special operations.

Appendix

The item was discovered due to reports of environmental damage in ██████, ████, allegedly by ██████. The Controlled Biological Response Team "Eco Terrorists" was dispatched to the area, in full biohazard gear. Making their way through the forest they found the substance, emitting gases that caused damage to flora and fauna. The CBR Team prepared to collect the item. They completed the task in 40 min, and brought it to Base-7.

Appendix 2

The item has been found around the country of discovery. The times it has been found it has been found in small quantities. It has been discovered infrequently and at long intervals of time. While the Insurgency has little interest in the source of the substance, other organizations, such as the Foundation, have concerns about a possible entity, and that it may be hostile towards humans.

There is some evidence that the substance is spit from a creature, but this can still be disproven. In the areas where more of the item is discovered, there are dead animals, not only from possible inhalation of the gas, but some show damage indicating they were attacked.

In all cases, the animals that showed signs of attack had many or almost all internal organs missing. Some were slit open from the abdomen or back and others had their jaws open to almost 65 cm.

It is unknown whether or not this is actually an entity, whether it has anomalous properties, and whether it is a unique entity or an unknown new species.
