Usage
The Item is only to be deployed in open combat missions or large-scale assaults. Its technical functionality and battlefield performance make it an invaluable item for the Insurgency, so the request for its use can only be given by the Cell Director, Central Command and Delta Command itself. The use of the Item, its maintenance and experimentation will only be carried out by Gamma Level personnel assigned in the Epsilon K Maintenance Protocol. Opening the Item's hatch without higher authorization will lead to demotion to Test Subject.
Report
The Item is a 1955 Soviet Union T-55 tank highly modified to extend its operational functionality for at least the next seventy (70) years. It is believed that these modifications were made between 2010 and 2015, using as a base a natural anomaly, in this case, the tank itself. The Item presents the following anomalous characteristics:
- The Item's armor consists of a combination of welded plates of steel, aluminum, and an ionized Telekill alloy. Some of the joints and seams are made from laminated metal plates consisting of steel and nickel from a Type III Meteorite1.
- The two tracks that consisted of five wheels each have been replaced by four smaller tracks, two for each side. These seem to produce a magnetic and inertial effect that move the tank at a speed much greater than its weight would allow. Both the power plant and the clutch have been modified to go from 50 km/h to 90 km/h in a matter of seconds without compromising mobility.
- The 12-cylinder Model V-55 Engine has been removed and in its place contains a spherical core of [REDACTED] that appears to be the artificial power source of the Item. This core appears to contain an inexhaustible source of energy created through an unknown production process making the tank run for an unlimited period of time, providing a permanent flow of energy.
- The DShK Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun has been replaced by a similar-looking weapon with an enlarged barrel shroud, no loading port, and no upper receiver. Where the ammunition belt entry line would have been is now a cable connected directly to the central core. All upper and lower receiver assemblies appear to be fused together, and there are no discernible joints, ports, or other assemblies leading into the body of the weapon.
- The D-10T2G cannon has been modified; outwardly it does not appear to be any different, but analysis of the inside of the muzzle opening shows a series of small electronic rails and electromagnetic and thermal generators. Scans and thermal signatures show that the area where the cannonball storage and loading area should be is supplanted by an unknown square object connected directly to the core. When activated it fires a white beam, with a range of up to ██km. Targets hit (organic or not) disintegrate instantly; This is believed to be because the lightning eliminates the electromagnetic force between atoms, causing them to immediately begin to separate into their constituent protons and neutrons.
Appendix 1: Discovery
The Item was taken following a confrontation between the Global Occult Coalition and the IC-004: Zeta Cell, which occurred in northwestern ██████, Ukraine. The encounter lasted several minutes with the members of the Zeta Cell losing their numbers to the advances of the COG White Suits. The Item itself, which appeared to be part of a Zeta Cell convoy, entered at the end of the battle, wiping out 3/4 of the COG Strike Teams thanks to the continued use of its modified cannon. It was not until the intervention of an Orange Suit2 stopped the attacks of the article when it was hit and thrown towards a bank of snow and ice where it remained motionless, but not before shooting down with its anti-aircraft machine gun one of the mechanical arms of the Orange Suit, whose occupant seems to have lost consciousness or died. A Special Team that was in the area, sent to exchange anomalies with the GRU Division P, with no apparent survivors from either side, took advantage to take the Article asking for asylum in a nearby GRU safe house. A week after moving the article from Ukraine to Russia and then from Turkey to Iraq, it was sent by an ocean liner as secret cargo passing the Mediterranean Sea until reaching the Gulf of Mexico where it was received in the port of Veracruz.
Appendix 2: Investigation
With the help of GRU experts, it was discovered that the item appears to be a modified version of a natural anomaly that the GRU once had control of, but was stolen during a raid on the GRU's main base in Moscow in 1993 by forces of the GoI-███: The Scarlet Hammer. The anomaly could not even be catalogued and there are barely any records mentioning it. According to the few GRU members who were in contact with it, the tank's original anomaly was that it would run without any fuel and fire despite having no ammunition; however, the two pilots needed to operate it were drained of life energy until their bodies were withered and unrecognizable. The pilots apparently did not notice this until someone opened the hatch, at which point it was too late to do anything about it. The tank was thought to have been lost during the assault, but Insurgency intelligence is now certain that Zeta Cell obtained the Scarlet Hammer anomaly on their black market.
Testing of the item showed that it does not activate until at least one pilot enters the tank and closes the hatch. When it is kept open in its inactive state the interior displays a [DATA EXPUNGED]. The only inorganic object appears to be a small digital display attached to the side that displays the following:
Furthermore, no control or machinery was found that would allow the tank to be controlled. According to the pilots' testimonies, when the hatch is closed, the tank core is activated and by some unknown means it is controlled by the pilot's thoughts. Tests have shown that the use of two pilots, as is traditionally done, is more effective when engaging in combat, with one concentrating on driving the tank and the other handling the weapons.
