One More Battle
Puntuación: 0+x

What is life at this point? What the hell is morality?

That's what I was thinking as the convoy moved forward and I looked out the window at the remains left by this massacre. My breathing was accelerated and my adrenaline was so high that I seriously wondered if I was going to be like this forever, eventually I relaxed, which made me feel a little worse. Until a few fucking moments ago I was shooting with all the magazines I had at the most famous fucking jailers in this shitty world full of things I don't understand.

Indeed, Site-36 had been finished off, we took advantage of several of the escapes they had and that they were doing renovations. Normally I would consider this a victory, since every battle has its risks and sacrifices that make winning glorious, even if it is for a short period of time and then being alone at night and crying remembering all the deaths that our blood-stained hands have caused.

But this was not the case, they did not put up any real resistance. There were only a few not very dense Detachments watching. It was so unfair that they somehow even managed to make my pulse tremble more and more with each shot.

Pam, pam, pam, pam!

Remembering the sounds of my shrapnel passing through bodies, flesh and bones made me feel dizzy and stressed. Normally, in casual circumstances we would be the ones to run away, to say "Fuck! What bastards they are, this gives us more reasons to kill them", but this time it was the other way around, we were the ones to trample them.

Is this right?

No, it is not. What makes me know this? Those sobs, my war brother, Agent Tau was crying beside me, surely thinking the same thing as me. He may have even thought even more. In front of me, Agent Aíma had glassy eyes, and I, Agent Thámva was simply silent, wanting to shed tears like a baby just born into the world. But I did not allow myself that luxury, it would break the already broken minds of my companions even more.

I know this is stupid, we're up to our necks in a world where blood is our daily bread, where even waking up is dangerous. But, we can't help but feel that way. I know what the Insurgency taught me, I know that I should look at the Foundation as simple idiots who think they can control everything. But, damn, every day I think about it more and we just look like teenagers trying to rebel against their parents.

"Tau, Aíma, what do you want to do now?"

After asking that, Tau looked at me with his swollen and red eyes, you could see that he was dry from crying so much.

"I want to leave this place and never come back. Not from this place, no, I want to leave everything." He answered me with a broken voice.

"I'm the same as Tau, Thámva, I want to go to hell." Aíma answered me.

"I see…"

There were a few minutes of silence where only the engines of the car and the trucks in front could be heard.

"In 4 minutes there is a crossing and we are the last of the convoy." I said trying to appear calm.

"What are you suggesting?" Aíma asked me.

Tau just looked at me with a bit of sparkle in his eyes, I think he knows what I'm going to say.

"Fuck off and leave the Insurgency behind, escape, you know how few resources they have, they won't bother looking for us if we are smart and fast enough."

Aíma was silent for a few moments, he was digesting what I had just said.

"Let's do it."

For a moment I felt a slight joy and then guilt took over me, but I stood straight.

"Are you okay with this, Tau?"

"Fuck off, Thámva, fuck off now, I'm too young to throw my life away for a lost cause."

The three of us nodded and waited patiently. I reloaded my rifle just in case, I've been dishing out bullets with the Insurgency long enough to know that they shoot at the first opportunity.

"Ready?" I said, my voice shaking a little.

"Fuck, we've survived 20 battles together, of course we have."

"Is this just one more? Isn't it?" Tau replied, reloading his submachine gun.

"Yes gentlemen, just one more battle."

Wanted!

On 10/13/2020, an assault was carried out on Site-36. The current state of the facility is currently deplorable following the Assault on Fort Mercer. Most of the Foundation personnel at the facility were killed and/or fled. However, following this crushing victory for our Insurgency, where we obtained several anomalies of great importance, a total of 3 Insurgents fled the ranks. Below are those involved.
