Usage
The Item has been secured to the Biological Containment Area in a 10 x 12 meter long chamber made of weatherproof steel with remotely controllable climate that must always be kept between 15 and 30 degrees. Four (4) sprays have been placed in each corner of the room to disperse the special mixture of nutrients and pesticides, as well as natural water that is given for ten minutes once a day. The ceiling is covered with two six (6) meter plates each with three (3) UV LED lamps that automatically turn on on a twelve (12) hour cycle. Two one (1) meter and 30 cm drains are located in the floor at the base of the west and north walls to remove debris.
The chamber must only be opened every weekend for the experimental staff to take care of and maintain as well as giving the Item an experimental subject every end of the month to feed on.
The attached greenhouse is to be used for the planting and in vitro cultivation procedures of the Raw Material for the care and harvesting of Element A and Element E. Anyone at Beta Level or higher must read the attached document Raw Material Care and Maintenance of Item #37.
Any manifestation of Alpha-Green of any kind and occurring at any time must be reported to Gamma Level personnel. Personnel on duty are strictly prohibited from interacting with Alpha-Green. All dialogue between Alpha-Green and Insurgency personnel must be recorded, and the latter must wear earplugs.

The Article is a tree Ceiba pentandra1 that contains characteristics that differentiate it from the others. It is more than seven (7) meters tall and is made of a moderately malleable woody tissue. Its lower part extends into several large roots, with a trunk and branches that are gray on the outside.
Its branches produce fruit-like growths2 which hang from its spherical branches with several spine-like protuberances. This fruit contains a psychoactive chemical and dendrotoxin that once consumed affects any subject causing loss of motor skills, dizziness, vertigo and disorientation. After less than two minutes the person will fall unconscious, usually always falling near the surroundings of the tree. Once this occurs the tree will begin to move its roots in a form similar to vines and/or tentacles towards the unconscious body.
The upper section of these roots is a growth consisting of a Pinguicula ehlersiae3 of more than 20 cm that presents great differences to its common analogue, such as showing several spikes that surround the circumferences of the sticky leaves4, these can contract, opening and closing in a similar way to a mouth. In the center of this is a hollow cellulose needle that pierces the subject's skin. Through this needle the tree begins to absorb the subject's nutrients while enveloping it with its multiple roots.
After approximately two (2) hours the subject will be drained of all its fluids leaving the corpse completely dry and in an advanced state of decay. These bodies release an enormous natural stench that seems to keep away large animals and predators, as well as flies and larvae, so the body takes much longer to decompose. If the body receives enough heat and water within a period of one (1) month it will begin to present small eruptions in the form of buds above its skin in the chest and abdomen area, until occupying the entire lower part of the torso.
From here a series of biological changes of an anomalous nature will occur that differ depending on the gender of the body:
Male Bodies - During the next fifteen (15) days, plants of less than one (1) meter in height will grow from these shoots, with an appearance similar to that of a younger version of the Ceiba tree. This plant will not grow more than a little more than one (1) meter maximum and will not form stems or layers of wood. Each month this plant will generate between five or six fruits of Element A that maintain the same properties of the original tree.
Female Bodies - During the next fifteen (15) days, a series of bunches of a kind of pink-violet axillary flowers will grow5, which are much more abundant in the abdominal area. For every hundred (100) of these flowers, a specimen of Element E will appear.

Element E, or Element Eve, is a purple-blue flower that emits a phosphorescent blue glow when night falls. The flower has six petals as well as dark blue filaments and pistils that appear to move and warn of the presence of humans present. Despite this, the flower does not exhibit any kind of sapience. When this flower is infused and distilled, it will create a substance called Compound Eve-13. In addition to a sample of tetrahydrocannabinol6 and traces of stem cells, the chemical components in the substance have not been able to be identified or replicated.
The properties of Eva-13 are only perceived once at least a quarter of a liter of the substance has been consumed. The subject will feel almost immediately after consumption a sensation of euphoria and pleasure that will last between forty-five (45) minutes and one (1) hour. From this point on, the subject will become dependent on this substance for life. Every seven days, the subject's organs, especially the liver and stomach, will suffer severe atrophy that will be impossible to reverse even with surgical intervention. Only the administration of the substance7 it can stop and regenerate damaged organs, as well as continue to give the same levels of euphoria as before.
Eventually the individual will become paranoid and suffer severe episodes of chronic depression that will end with the subject developing an addiction to the substance. Subjects will be willing to do anything for one more sample of Eva-13, even going so far as to commit criminal acts against strangers, family and friends.
Appendix: Alpha-Green

Alpha-Green is a humanoid plant-like entity who refers to himself as the "Messenger of Yum Kaax8". He is a humanoid male composed of wood and leaves from numerous tree species. The leaves are primarily in shades of green and black. Although Alpha-Green usually appears at the equinox and when there is a full moon, he can also manifest randomly, without being provoked. He usually emerges from a gap made within the trunk of the Article that appears out of nowhere; this gap closes again when Alpha-Green enters the Article again.
Upon emerging from the tree, Alpha-Green will immediately begin vocalizing in the Mayan language9 for about two to five minutes depending on the case. This speech10 It seems to have a kind of Info-hazard effect that affects anyone who hears it, regardless of whether or not they understand the Mayan language.
Subjects who hear the speech will have a drastic behavioral change in their personality. They will begin to focus all their efforts towards environmental conservation, developing a zealous attitude towards environmental awareness, even going so far as to participate in eco-terrorist activities in an effort to defend the conservation of nature.
Individuals who are continuously exposed to this Info-hazard more than three times will begin to suffer an aggressive physical metamorphosis that lasts two (2) hours. This begins with the growth of a series of plant roots within human tissue, although the subjects do not express any kind of pain. The subjects begin to develop epidermal chloroplasts that give a greenish tone to the skin. Later other structures begin to emerge in the affected individuals: Roots on the soles of the feet, the development of epidermodysplasia verruciformis11 on the skin, a strong smell of chlorophyll emanating from the subjects, etc. The transformation culminates in the creation of an anomalous tree similar to those found in the forest of LoI-███ with humanoid characteristics but of inert appearance. These can take root in the place where their transformation ended, even being able to break the concrete of the floor, until they find a patch of dirt.

It is an ancient city of the Mayan civilization, located in the ██████ jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula. This city is made up of less than four structures including a main temple. The entire city is surrounded by a forested area that covers an estimated 1,000 square kilometers, however, the true extent of this area is altered by spatial distortions, being perceived differently depending on the individual entering the area. The vegetation consists primarily of trees of species not native to Central America, as well as other unknown species. Personnel have reported sightings of anomalous fauna and flora the deeper they explore the forest. There does not appear to be any animal life living within ██km of the forest.
The trees around the temple take on a humanoid appearance, with some of them vaguely displaying facial features. Personnel have reported hearing whispers coming from an undetermined location in the jungle. A few staff members have reported seeing the sun remain in the same position for hours, even after their watches say it is sunset. If the sun remains within the area for more than a day, any sense of spatial orientation is lost.
The main temple is dilapidated, with fauna and several trees growing on its ruins. Inside the temple, also completely filled with plant life, there is an empty space in the shape of a 4x5m square. It is speculated that a kind of "throne" must have been in that space, which for unknown reasons is not invaded by other fauna and flora.
Several members of the GoI-███: Cult of the Great Green God have been discovered exploring LoI-███, and since the Item's transport to the base, some members of the cult have been seen roaming the perimeter of Base-7. Insurgent personnel are under orders to capture some of these members alive for further questioning into the nature of the Item and LoI-███.
