Recovery - Part One

The first part of the Item was found by a scientific vessel near the coast of the Ivory Coast. Apparently the vessel was carrying out tests on the seabed when they discovered an old Spanish vessel, which was 33 km from the coast and about 19 m deep. After investigating the sunken ship, the scientists managed to remove a fairly corroded chest from the main vault. While this was happening, an Insurgent patrol, disguised as pirates, managed to board the scientific vessel. While the Insurgent agents were carrying out a common looting of the vessel and its crew, the Item was activated¹, releasing several entities, similar to "giant mosquitoes", after these were eliminated by the Insurgent agents, the latter (theorizing that what happened was due to some anomaly) searched for the source of what happened. After investigating, the agents managed to find the item.

After safeguarding the Item, inside the Insurgent vessel, they proceeded to execute the scientific crew, throw their bodies into the sea and burn their vessel. Once on land, the item was sent through secure channels to Base-7. 15 Hrs after the Incident, another Insurgent team went to the area, in order to search for and obtain any other valuable resources on the Spanish vessel, thus obtaining close to ███████ $, with the sale of the recovered objects.

The following note was found, among the pages of the Item. It was not damaged by spending nearly ███ years submerged under water. According to the note itself, this was written between 1740-1750 and by the Captain of the shipwrecked ship.

I think that today marks a month of being on the high seas. I really don't know, that evil book is starting to drive us all crazy. Even so, I don't know what is more devastating, listening to those voices for more than a month or knowing that this book arrived long before us, to the new world. Unfortunately, the Indians, who lived around where we found this example of heresy, did not want to cooperate and we had to exterminate them, so perhaps we will never know how this work of the Evil One reached the new lands. Historical Record

One week after obtaining the second part of the item, restoration work on the object began under the leadership of Dr. Zaragoza. Its repair was achieved thanks to a combination of chemical and thaumatological methods.

Dr. Zaragoza and his team have managed to create a timeline that contains all the data regarding the history of the item, although it is noted that this timeline is incomplete and provides a wide range of information regarding the item.

• 3rd Century BC - Due to carbon dating of the pages of the book, it is speculated that its creation date was sometime in that time. Written by, as indicated in the book itself, a subject who called himself "Grais Arras."

• 6th Century AD - Possibly after the destruction of the remains of the Library, following the arrival of the Muslims, was when the division of the book occurred. From here, the possibility has been raised that the "Second Part" of the book was taken by Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, while the remaining part somehow arrived at an as yet undiscovered American Continent.

• 1740-1750 - After an expedition in the territory still dominated by Indians, a group of the Holy Order of New Spain finds the "First part" of the book, which was guarded by a small tribe of Indians, who acted aggressively towards the men of the Order, the latter eliminated all the members of the tribe and took the book. Later, the Order considers the option of taking the book to Spanish territory to be delivered to the "Knights of the Military Order of Borja and Aragon", but the book is lost after the ship that was transporting it sinks.

• 201█ - The "First Part" is recovered from the bottom of the sea, and then ends up in the hands of the Insurgency. After that, the "Second Part" is bought from the GoI Black Box, which does not provide information about how it obtained its part of the Book. Shortly after, restoration work begins.
